Irena Bieńkowska

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIrena Bieńkowska has studied musicology at the Warsaw University under Prof. Mirosław Perz. In 1999 she defended her doctoral dissertation in musicology on The Music of Giovanni Battista Cocciola (supervisor: Prof. M. Perz). Since 2000 she works as an Assistant Professor at the Division of History of Polish Music in the Institute of Musicology at University of Warsaw. Her scientific interests include history of Polish music in 16th and 17th century, the history of musical patronage in the eastern frontiers of Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth in 17th and 18th century and music source studies. Wrote about 30 scientific papers concerning musical patronage of Polish-Lithuanian noble families and music sources. Reprint of her book entitled Muzyka na dworze księcia Hieronima Floriana Radziwiłła (Music on the court of Hieronim Florian Radziwiłł, Warszawa 2013) is recently prepared.
